Adaskin Trio with Tom Gallant

On this Concert from the Frick Collection, the return of a Canadian ensemble the Adaskin String Trio. The trio’s name comes from a Canadian family of brothers who drove Canada’s music scene during much of the 20th century. The trio is Emlyn Ngai playing the violin, Steve Larson playing the viola, and Mark Fraser playing the cello. For this program, the trio was joined by American oboist Tom Gallant.

The program included pieces for string trio by Beethoven and Russian composer named Sergei Taneyev. The trio brings in special guest Tom Gallant for Fiala’s Quartet in F major, and ends the night with the Mozart oboe quartet.
