Saturday Morning Cartoons: 'Chariots of Fur'

Saturday, August 11, 2012

For this Saturday’s cartoon we celebrate the end of the 2012 Olympics with "Chariots of Fur," a 1994 Looney Tunes cartoon that features Bedrich Smetana’s "Dance of the Comedians" from The Bartered Bride. In true Olympic spirit, the Roadrunner’s amazing speed is matched by Wile E. Coyote’s heroic perseverance (with corporate sponsorship by the Acme Company, no doubt.)

Music from the "Voices of Spring" Waltz by Johann Strauss II and "Siegfried’s Rhine Journey" from Wagner’s Gotterdammerung can also be heard in this cartoon.
