Clarinetist Todd Palmer and pianist Ran Dank return to the Young Artists Showcase years after being introduced by host Bob Sherman. The two musicians met through the Young Concert Artists; they were discovered by the organization and scheduled to perform together in Japan.

On the flight to Japan Palmer saw Dank mimicking piano playing in the air while listening to music on headphones. Since then the two have been collaborating beautifully. On this episode of the Young Artists Showcase, we hear excerpts from their upcoming concert at the Tannery Pond in New Lebanon, N.Y. The duo also perform Shepherd on the Rock and we hear Dank play Scriabin’s Sonata No. 9 “Black Mass.”
