This week From the Top is at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, Va., where you'll be introduced to a young violinist who’s become a local arts hero and hear her play the music of Saint-Saëns. You'll also meet two teenage cellists whose approach to their instrument is very different and be treated to a devilish performance of Liszt's Mephisto Waltz by a 13-year-old pianist.

Program details:

Myxolydian Duo (cellists Naomi Benecasa, 17, from Springield, Mo., and Richard Mazuski, 17, from Olivette, Mo.) performa II. Scherzo from Suite for Two Cellos and Piano by Gian Carlo Menotti.

Guitarist Noah Kim, 15, from San Marino, Calif., performs Fuoco Libre by Roland Dyens.

Bassoonist Keith Buncke, 17, from Lake Oswego, Ore., performs II. Allegro scherzando from Sonata, Op. 168 by Camille Saint-Saëns.
