Showcase Season Preview

The Young Artists Showcase launches a new season next week, and this week offers up a preview of things to come during its 35th year.

The program begins with two short Rachmaninoff pieces, performed by the iPalpiti Orcheatral Ensemble of International Laureates recorded in concert this past year at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Next up, pianist Reed Tetzloff performs Brahms from a recital performance this past fall. Tetzloff, who just won an award named after Young Artists Showcase host Bob Sherman’s mother, Nadia Reisenberg, has a recital Nov. 1 at Merkin Concert Hall in Manhattan.

Also on the program, Sherman adds some of the narration to Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat, recorded in a trio arrangement by the Zodiac Trio.

Carl Bohm: Perpetuum Mobile
