This week, From the Top comes to you from Hosmer Concert Hall at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where you'll hear Tchaikovsky’s beautiful "Melodie" performed by a 14-year-old violinist studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music and George Enescu's "Cantabile" performed by an 18-year-old flutist from California. Also, a 10-year-old pianist performs "The Cat and the Mouse" by Aaron Copland.

Program details:

Cellist John Lee, 17, from Basking Ridge, N.J., performs "Dance of the Green Devil" by Gaspar Cassadó.

Pianist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Avery Gagliano, 10, from Washington, D.C., performs "The Cat and the Mouse" by Aaron Copland.

Flutist Margaux Filet, 18, from Davis, Calif., performs "Cantabile" by George Enescu.

Quartet Al Dente (violinist Adé Williams, 14, from Chicago; violinist Claire Bourg, 17, from Aurora, Ill.; violist Caitlin Adamson, 16, from Evanston, Ill.; and cellist Tara Safavi, 16, Naperville, Ill.) performs String Quartet No.2, Op.26, I. Allegro Rustico by Alberto Ginastera.

Violinist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Jieming Tang, 14, from Cleveland, performs Melodie, Op.42, No.3 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
