When the Young Artists Showcase was born in 1978, the Young Concert Artists had already nurtured burgeoning talents for nearly 18 years. This week's program introduces the winners of the 2012 Young Concert Artists auditions.

Last month, Bob Sherman hosted a private concert of the winners, held just two days after their final New York auditions. The recital opened with performances by violinist Aleksey Semenenko and cellist Cicely Parnas of works by Debussy, a partial celebration of his 150th birthday anniversary. Soprano Julia Bullock chose some lesser known works by Messiaen and Hubbard Miller. To close, excerpts from Robert Schumann’s Kinderszenen and String Quartet in A.
