Here's another Met production that was a complete joy to listen to since everyone in the cast excels in this repertory. There were many interpolations as is de riguer, such as the high C at the end of Comte Ory's entrance aria, written an octave lower as well as many tasteful fioratura at the end of arias. The chorus was excellent, as always. The conducting and playing were magnificent; and the traditional acceleration at the end of concerted pieces was followed here to advantage. The publisher, Troupenas of Paris, published the original soprano and mezzo-soprano parts in soprano C clef, the A transposition; and the tenor parts were published in tenor C clef, the D transposition.
