WQXR's Bach 360 festival may be over, but this week the Young Artists Showcase has a pair of encores that were a little too far afield to fit into last week’s Bach special: pieces by American composers Samuel Barber and Michael Daugherty.

Following that is our featured fiddlers three: Korbian Altenberger from Astral Artists in Philadelphia, and from the Keshet Eilon String Mastercourse in Israel, 19-year-old Siberian violinist Elena Tarosyan and 21-year-old Australian Emily Sun. They perform favorites and lesser-known gems by Kreisler, Ysaÿe and Saint-Saens.

Program details:

Samuel Barber: Mutations from Bach
— Round Top Brass and Percussions; Per Brevig, director.

Michael Daugherty: Bells for Stokowski
— University of Iowa Symphony Band; Myron Welch, conductor.

Paule Maurice: Tableaux de Provence; II. Le Cabridan
— Doug O’Connor, saxophone; Sonya Ovrutsky, piano.

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Flight of the Bumblebee (arr. for marimba duo)
— PercaDu.

Fritz Kreisler: La Gitana
— Korbinian Altenberger, violin; Pei-Shan Lee, piano.

Eugène Ysaÿe: Solo Violin Sonata No. 5
— Elena Tarosyan, violin.

Camille Saint-Saens: Introduction and Rondo Cappriccioso
