No singer inspired so much discussion nor was as influential as soprano Maria Callas. In this episode, George Jellinek pays tribute to this “ambitious, indomitable woman” who had both “fanatical admirers and equally ardent detractors." 

We hear excerpts of George’s interview with Maria Callas as well as vocal highlights from her career. This episode originally aired on September 22, 1977.
