Recorded during the New York Philharmonic’s 2013 residency at the Bravo! Vail summer festival in Colorado, Alan Gilbert conducts the orchestra in Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, with principal cello Carter Brey as soloist, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. This broadcast also includes Brey’s performance of J.S. Bach’s Unaccompanied Cello Suites Nos. 1 and 2, recorded at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on March 27, 2013, as part of The Bach Variations: A Philharmonic Festival.
