The Australian new music scene is pulsing with power and innovation. This week and next on Phil Kline's show I will share recordings from my large, wide and long personal collection featuring a special focus on Australian composers. But that's not all—tune in to hear the wet ink dripping off a new string quartet by Hannah Lash and recent works by local heroes Daniel Wohl, Andy Akiho, Aaron Jay Kernis, Martin Bresnick and Keith Jarrett amongst others.

Many new composers on the global scene are Aussies—check out the precocious lyricism of Phil Jameson, the textural walls of Kate Moore, Kate Neal's pounding strength, Will Gardner's sonic chambers, Tim Hansen's slick wit and Samson Young's feisty electronic blends alongside avant-garde classics by Gerard Brophy, Michael Smetanin, Martin Wesley-Smith, Brett Dean, Elena Kats-Chernin, Andrew Ford, Nigel Westlake and more, much more...please tune in for some border breaking listening—no jet lag guaranteed....
