Transcript

An alumna of the Julliard Opera Center, Ronnita Miller is currently in her second season of the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program at LA Opera. She has appeared as a feautred soloist in Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, and has received numerous notable scholarships.

Jeffrey Hill's performances at the Oberlin Opera as an undergraduate were deemed “impressively rich and full-bodied." He won the Franco American Vocal Academy’s 2nd Annual Competition and the Dayton Opera Guild’s Tri-State Opera Scholarship Competition. He currently studies at the Bard College Conservatory of Music Graduate Vocal Arts Program.

Both performers are accompanied by pianist/conductor Lio Kuokman , graduate of the Curtis School of Music who was recently praised by the Philadelphia Inquirer as “a startling conducting talent.”

Lio is the surname, Kuokman (or Kuok-man or Kuok Man) is the first name, so it should be Mr Lio, not Mr Kuokman.

I could not travel to New York to my son:s recital but my wife Carol was there and loved it. I loved hearing Jeffrey on your program, it gave me goose bumps. Thank you to Marilyn Horn for all the guidence you have given Jeffrey over the last 5 years. The other performers were also a pleasure to hear.

We could not travel to our daughter's recital in Ny on Feburary 14, 2010; however, hearing it on your station brought us such joy! Thank you Mrs Horne for sharing your gift with the world and inspiring others to do the same!
