NY Phil Music Director Alan Gilbert Gives a Crash Course on Le Grand Macabre

Q2 welcomes Maestro Alan Gilbert, who will present the New York premier of György Ligeti's ground-breaking opera, Le Grand Macabre.

All this week, from 12-1, listen to the Maestro offer insights on a whole host of macabre topics, from the music's deep rooting in operatic tradition to what Gilbert and director and designer Doug Fitch have in store for us as they transform Avery Fisher Hall into Breughelland and why New York is the perfect setting for the piece.
