This week, we turn our ears towards the north and explore the achievements of Canadian composers. Canada is nowadays very fertile ground for new music and a steady stream of imaginative compositions flows from our neighbors to the north.

We listen to music by established and emerging composers, from Hugh LeCaine's early electronic music to pieces written in the last few years. We also feature the fascinating music (for piano and small ensembles) of Henry Cowell, shine a spotlight on recent (and not so recent) music for guitar, and test the waters of Veli-Matti Puumala's varied repertoire.

All this spiced up with Ars Subtilior, some Feldman, and a weeklong spotlight of composer and Slow Six bandleader, Christopher Tignor. As always, please leave your thoughts on the music!
