Mussorgsky’s A Night on Bald Mountainhas been featured extensively in popular culture, from hip-hop to video games. Its place in cartoon history was cemented in 1940 with Walt Disney's 1940 film "Fantasia."

A powerful, nocturnal devil comes to life to Mussorgsky's piece in Fantasia. He lifts the dead from their graves and they dance through the sky before the bells signal their return to the earth.
