The Young Artists Showcase has settled in Miami this week, where this past February some of America’s best young pianists came to participate in the ninth American Chopin Foundation Competition. Host Bob Sherman was in attendance and hosted the winners' reception where five of the 11 semi-finalists were alumni of the Young Artists Showcase.

The auditions for this competition are unusual for three reasons: they are limited to American citizens, the required repertoire precisely mirrors that of the International Chopin Competition, and in addition to cash prizes, the top winners in Miami receive an all-expenses-paid opportunity to enter the international auditions in Warsaw.
