This week on the Young Artists Showcase, we continue our two-part series featuring the talented young Astral Artists. A mentoring program that specializes in nurturing the careers of emerging artists, Astral celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2017.

This program features a wide variety of music, from Bach to Pedro Iturralde, performed live at the Trinity Center for Urban Life in Philadelphia. Violinist Luosha Fang and pianist Ilya Poletaev play selections by Bach, Elliott Carter, and Alfred Schnittke. Saxophonist Jonathan Wintringham is joined by his colleague at the Eastman School of Music, pianist Pi-Lin Ni, as well as his saxophone ensemble, the East End Quartet, for music by Piazzolla and others.
