MSM Precollege Philharmonic (MSM Precollege)

This Wednesday at 9 pm, listen to young musicians of the Manhattan School of Music’s Precollege Philharmonic under the direction of Jonathan Strasser. The ensemble presents Mendelssohn’s "Ruy Blas" Overture and American composer George Chadwick’s Symphonic Sketches. In addition, the Manhattan School of Music performance prize winner, Cynthia Phillippi, plays the scherzo and allegretto movements from Bartok's Viola Concerto. The University of South Florida Wind Ensemble caps off the program with a feather, Morton Gould’s setting of "Yankee Doodle."
