I have been a NY Phil subscriber since 1978. I had the pleasure of hearing this concert in person. It just doesn't get any better. The Triple was Mr Dicterow's farewell concert. The love and joy that Mr Bronfman and Mr Brey and Mr Dicterow had for each other and the music elevated the performance. The orchestra and Mr Gilbert bore witness and joined along. Not taking anything away from the following performance of the Emperor, the concert could have just ended then.
