A Concerto Evening with Mackenzie Melemed and Annelle Kazumi Gregory

This week on the Young Artists Showcase, we hear back-to-back performances by Showcase alumnus Mackenzie Melemed and Showcase newcomer Annelle Kazumi Gregory, playing pieces by Mozart, Sibelius, and Prokofiev.

Pianist Mackenzie Melemed, prizewinner at the Sixth New York International Piano Competition, is joined by the Downtown Sinfonietta in the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23. Melemed is currently studying at The Juilliard School, and he has performed with orchestras around the country, including the Florence Symphony and the Sioux Symphony.  

In addition to winning first prize and the audience choice award at the 2017 Sphinx Competition, violinist Annelle Kazumi Gregory is a laureate of the 2013 Stradivarius International Violin Competition. She has performed at many venues in Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, and throughout the United States. On this program, Gregory is joined by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra in pieces by Sibelius and Prokofiev.
