Composer Angelo Badalamenti is probably best known for scoring "Twin Peaks," "Blue Velvet," and other projects by the distinctive director David Lynch. Badalmenti has proven to have a knack for dark, sumptuous strings, unusual instrumental textures, and an elegant blending of electronic and acoustic sounds that capture, compliment, and contrast with the images on the screen.

This Saturday, on Angelo Badalamenti's 77th birthday, David Garland presents a range of the composer's film scores.

Hi, I would listen to Movies on the Radio after the show aired because I live outside NYC. But I can't find where to stream the show anymore. Has that function been eliminated?
Boo hoo.

Why is there no link to this show? Looking over the archive, I now find that some shows contain a link & others do not. What's up with that?

Came upon this program just perusing radio stations (yes WQXR is a pre-set on my car). I was instantly engaged and sensed familiarity listening to what I believed to be a movie score - I just fell in love with the music of Angelo Badalamenti and am now listening to the whole program on line. I have never seen any of the movies he scored. Thank you for this new introduction.

Always enjoyed this music. Got the Twin Peaks CD years ago. Remember walking into Strand Book Store and hearing the theme playing. Nancy B. used to watch me as I perused the computer books. (I think she suspected I was a shoplifter. :P).

Never cared for the show itself.
