Ecstatic Music Festival Curator Judd Greenstein Previews 2014 Lineup

The Adventurous Indie-Classical Festival Returns on January 31, 2014

Monday, January 27, 2014

On Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 1 pm, Q2 Music presents a one-hour special hosted by Helga Davis outlining the upcoming 2014 Ecstatic Music Festival with commentary from festival curator Judd Greenstein.

An active composer and co-founder of the indie-classical label New Amsterdam Records, Greenstein joins Helga to talk about the festival's mission, the debatable notion of artistic failure as it applies to new music, and the contrasting collaborations of this year's shows.

The 2014 festival launches Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 pm with a live videocast of indie-rock trio Hospitality and new-music wunderkinds Face the Music from The Greene Space at WQXR & WNYC. Helga Davis hosts, and the festival continues through Mar. 29 with performances by experimental bands and adventurous composer-performers at Merkin Concert Hall and Carnegie Hall.

For the fourth year in a row, Q2 Music is the official digital partner of Kaufman Music Center's Ecstatic Music Festival, and will the home for on-demand audio and live webcasts.
