Tune in Wednesday at 9 pm as Young Artists Showcase presents the first of a two-part series on the 2015 Evnin Rising Stars concerts held at Caramoor last fall.
Evnin Rising Stars pairs established musicians with the next generation of young artists to guide them in their study of chamber music masterworks. The program culminates in two concerts at Caramoor, featuring the emerging artists alongside their mentors. In 2015, eight young artists joined acclaimed musicians Pamela Frank, Kim Kashkashian and Peter Wiley to play pieces by Schubert, Brahms, Mendelssohn and others.
This week’s show features the rising and established musicians playing the Schubert Quartettsatz, the finale from Haydn’s D Major Quartet and Mendelssohn’s First Piano Trio.
In addition to the performances by the Evnin Rising Stars, WQXR will be broadcasting programs live from the Caramoor Festival throughout the summer starting with the opening night concert on Saturday, June 17, at 8:30 pm.
