Tune in Friday at 10 pm for a concert of fantastic fairy tales set to music by Russian composers. The event was recorded at the Mannes School of Music's Ernst C. Stiefel Concert Hall on Dec. 1, 2015. Mannes faculty member Irina Morozova, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, curated the program which journeys through the magical worlds of Cinderella, the Nutcracker, the Little Humpbacked Horse and more. An international selection of Mannes piano students performed, including Sibel Zeynelova, Lora Al-Ahmad and Georgi Lekov from Bulgaria; Jorge Tabares from Spain; and Ziang Xu and Jiacheng Zhuo from China.
In addition, you'll also hear the Brahms Clarinet Quintet from the Mannes graduation recital of German clarinetist Sebastian Lambertz, which also took place in December 2015. Joining Mr. Lambertz are four musicians from Juilliard: violinists Eric Silberger and Mariella Haubs, violist Jameel Martin and cellist Ken Kubota.
