Tune in at 10 pm Monday, as two string quartets — the Jupiter and Orion, the latter with pianist Anne-Marie McDermott — perform folk-inspired pieces. First, the Jupiter String Quartet will play "The American" string quartet by the Czech-born Antonin Dvořák, inspired by his travels in the United States. Orion and McDermott's performance of Hungarian-born composer Ernõ Dohnányi's Piano Quintet No. 2 follows.
Dvořák: Quartet No. 12 in F major for Strings, Op. 96, "The American"
Jupiter String Quartet (Nelson Lee, Megan Freivogel, violin; Liz Freivogel, viola, Daniel McDonough, cello)
Dohnányi: Quintet No. 2 in E-flat minor for Piano, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello, Op. 26
Anne-Marie McDermott, piano; and the Orion String Quartet (Daniel Phillips, Todd Phillips, violin; Steven Tenenbom, viola; Timothy Eddy, cello)
