Throughout the month of June, join host Suzanne Farrin for the second season of Off the Grid – a special feature on Q2 Music that runs Thursdays at 8 am, with encore presentations Thursdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm.
Off the Grid showcases favorite submissions from our second annual Composition Contest, where we actively solicit music directly from the source, you – emerging musicians, college or conservatory students and aspiring composers, young or old. We're accepting your CDs through May 31 (instructions here).
It is our hope that Off the Grid offers a counter-argument to reports of classical music's impending demise. Its longevity is the result of your inventiveness and endless imagination, both as listeners and composers. You will hear private, unreleased recordings, lesser-known but dynamic composers and radically new sonic worlds.
Tune in to meet some of the great new voices in the Q2 Music family, as chosen and hosted by Suzanne Farrin. Our ears are always open for the best and brightest in new music, so if you have something you'd like us to consider for the second season of Off the Grid, send it along!
