In celebration of Israel’s Independence Day, the Young Artists Showcase features performances from the concluding gala of the 2016 Keshet Eilon string mastercourse in Tel-Aviv. We hear Pablo de Sarasate’s homage to his home province of Navarra, an excerpt from Gaspar Cassadó’s D minor cello suite, and Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic Pezzo Capriccioso. To end the program, there is a powerful documentary created by host Bob Sherman, with text by Michael Prujan and music by Josef Marais.
