Frederic Chopin is full of contradictions. Born in Poland, he spent most of his life France, however, his native country remained close to his heart. Though he was of the greatest pianists of his era, his principal teacher was a violinist. And though he was highly regarded as a performer, he avoided playing publicly, preferring to present his compositions in small intimate settings for friends. This week on Classics for Kids, learn more about this famous pianist and composer.
