Bing & Ruth's music falls somewhere between classical minimalism, post rock and ambient electronica. Last month they celebrated the re-release of their "City Lake" live at LPR. Originally released in 2010 the album – until now limited to a pressing of 250 copies – incorporates an 11-person ensemble of New School grads led by composer-pianist David Moore. The album's individual tracks sound as a multi-movement suite defined by slow builds and tightly-wound rhythmic interplay.

Also celebrating an album release were Port St. Willow, the project of self-proclaimed ambient pop and drone artist Nicholas Principe. "Syncope" is the band's second album and the release show included tape-manipulated trombone alongside keyboard, drums, guitar and vocals.

Julie Byrne opened the evening with a set of songs driven by introspective acoustic guitar picking and analog synthesizer.
