David Krakauer and Kathleen Tagg (Jill Steinberg)

On Jan. 17, 2016, Grammy-nominated clarinetist David Krakauer and South African composer/pianist Kathleen Tagg presented "Breath & Hammer" — arrangements of "simple songs" from cultures around the globe.

Part of this year's Ferus Festival, the evening included original works by both performers alongside compositions by John Zorn, Kinan Azmeh, Rob Curto, Emil Kroitor and Roberto Rodriguez.

The 2016 Ferus Festival was curated by VisionIntoArt and featured six performances incorporating music, theater and visuals at National Sawdust in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
