This second installment of the JACK Quartet's October 18 marathon at the 2015 SONiC Festival features performances from violin/voice ensemble Duo Cortona and from clarinetist Derek Bermel.
Duo Cortona is the husband/wife team of JACK violinist Ari Streisfeld and mezzo-soprano Rachel Calloway. Composer and clarinetist Derek Bermel is the American Composers Orchestra's Artistic Director and the SONiC Festival curator.
This set, recorded live at Merkin Concert Hall, includes world premieres by Jeremy Rapaport-Stein, Jeremy Gill, Kerrith Livengood and Eblis Álvarez as well as music by Loren Loiacono, Amadeus Regucera and Carolina Heredia.

The American Composers Orchestra’s inaugural SONiC Festival, presented in 2011, was hailed as "a brilliant and unpretentious showcase for music in the new millennium" (The Guardian).
