Listen to a pair of world premieres by American composer and pianist Frederic Rzewski, recorded live at the Library of Congress.

Rzewksi's String Quartet, composed in 1955, was performed for the first time on April 29, 2016 by the Del Sol String Quartet. A brand new four-movement work for violin and piano, Satires, was commissioned by the Library and performed by the composer and violinist Jennifer Koh on April 30.

This on-demand music is part of a partnership between Q2 Music and Concerts from the Library of Congress to share works that the Library of Congress either commissioned or presented as world or US premieres dating back to the 2009-2010 season.
