Goldfeather and Exceptet perform live at Merkin Concert Hall (David Andrako)

On March 13th,  Brooklyn-based septet Exceptet joined neo-old-timey band, Goldfeather for a performance of works by composers Paul Kerekes, Brendon Randall-Myers, Fay Wang, and Brooks Frederickson. The collaboration also included performances of tracks from Goldfeather's self-titled EP with unique arrangements by Exceptet.

Founded in 2015, Exceptet was derived through the instrumentation of Stravinksy's "L'Histoire du Soldat" and created as a way to commission the most compelling composers of today.

Goldfeather is the pet project of Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, Sarah Goldfeather, also a founding member of Exceptet. The band is a folk-meets-contemporary-classical bundle of energy performed against an indie-rock backdrop. Their first full-length album Patchwork Quilt is due out in 2016.
