JACK Quartet and Rachel Calloway perform at the 2015 SONiC Festival at Merkin Concert Hall (American Composers Orchestra)

The final installment of the JACK Quartet's marathon at the 2015 SONiC Festival includes music and performances from Caroline Shaw and Bang on a Can All-Star Ken Thomson. The ensemble is also joined by This Side Up – the string quartet of teen ensemble Face the Music – for performances of music by Paris Lavidis and Justine Chen.

This performance is the final set of a six-hour marathon recorded October 18 at Merkin Concert Hall. In addition to Caroline Shaw, This Side Up and Ken Thomson, the day's guests included So Percussion, composer-clarinetist Derek Bermel and the husband-wife Duo Cortona.

The American Composers Orchestra’s inaugural SONiC Festival, presented in 2011, was hailed as "a brilliant and unpretentious showcase for music in the new millennium" (The Guardian). The second edition returned in 2015 with over 20 world premieres, and music from over 80 composers age 40 and under at venues across New York City.
