Listen: JACK Quartet Premieres 'Contritus' by Caleb Burhans

On Apr. 30, 2010, the JACK Quartet gave the world premiere performance of Caleb Burhans's Contritus in the Coolidge Auditorium of the Library of Congress. 

Caleb Burhans is an American composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in New York. In the program note from the premiere performance, Burhans writes that the work draws inspiration from Catholic prayers of contrition and penance. 

This on-demand music is part of a new partnership between Q2 Music and Concerts from the Library of Congress to share works that the Library of Congress either commissioned or presented as world or US premieres dating back to the 2009-2010 season.
