Listen to the archived broadcast from the Caramoor Festival's opening night concert on June 18, featuring Kelli O'Hara and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. WQXR's Elliot Forrest hosts.

O'Hara, who starred in The King and I and South Pacific on Broadway, sings selections from these two Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals. as well as other favorites from the American Songbook. A particular focus is on the output of lyricist Ira Gershwin. Additional works by Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter and others round out the program.

The Orchestra of St. Luke's is led by conductor Rob Fisher, known for his collaborations with other leading ladies and as music director of productions from New York City Center’s Encores! series. Listen to Rob Fisher speak to Elliott Forrest about the program by clicking the player below.

Kelli is absolutely right! They should revive "The Sound of Music." And she has to star in it.
