Sarah Neufeld performed on April 15, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge in New York. (Jaime Rubiano)

At one point calling this performance “really the record release” for her second solo album, violinist and composer Sarah Neufeld performed songs from The Ridge on April 15, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge.

Best known as a member of the Montréal-based Arcade Fire and a founding member of Bell Orchestre, Neufeld was joined by her frequent collaborator saxophonist Colin Stetson (here on the electronic wind instrument the Lyricon) and fellow Bell Orchestre bandmate Stefan Schneider on drums and electronics.

The Ridge marks a shift away from her previous music’s ambient leanings, toward a more vocal and pop-influenced sound. The live version of the entire concert is available for on-demand streaming above.

Program:

"From Our Animal"
"Hero Brother"
"Chase the Bright and Burning"
"A Long Awaited Scar"
"They All Came Down/The Glow"
"We’ve Got A Lot"
"The Ridge"
"Where The Light Comes In"
"Muscle Til Death"
"The Sun Roars Into View"
