Steven Schick (Mark Palmer)

Listen to composer, conductor and 2015 Ojai Music director Steven Schick perform a solo recital of pioneering works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Iannis Xenakis, and Vinko Globokar, along with works by today's leading composers, live in concert at the Ojai Music Festival on June 12, 2015.

Greeted by an enthusiastic audience, Steven Schick begins his performance with Xenakis' motoric Rebonds, followed by Stockhausen's Zyklus, Kaija Saariaho's Six Japanese Gardens, and David Lang's The Anvil Chorus. The following work, Trans, comes from the program's youngest composer, UCSD professor Lei Liang. Globokar's Corporel and Xenakis' Psappha round out the demanding and impressive evening. 

This on-demand music is part of a partnership between Q2 Music and the Ojai Music Festival to share live recordings from the festival dating back to the 2012 season.
