This Saturday at 1 pm listen to Verdi's Falstaff from the LA Opera, starring Roberto Frontali in the title role. James Conlon conducts this comic masterpiece, inspired by Shakespeare's play, The Merry Wives of Windsor.

This production, staged in 2013 to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Verdi's birth, was directed by Lee Blakeley

I've seen it live a couple of timess. Nope, it didn't work for me.

@Uncle Charlie: this opera really has to be seen live. There is some lovely music but it is pure theatre. I watched it on tv years ago and enjoyed it very much. again, live.

A comedy "masterpiece" which the audience never laughs at and can't whistle a single melody from.

stuff in my house.

CBC I hope u survived this brutal weather. I would jump in the laundry basket just to be thrown into the Thames to cool off.
