This week, the Young Artists Showcase presents a concert from the young musicians of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductor Jonathan Strasser has led the program since 1977.

Members of the Precollege Philharmonic are between 5 and 18 years old and they perform recitals and concerts throughout the year on a startlingly professional level. The concert on this program was recorded at the school's John C. Borden Auditorium.

In addition to refreshing performances from Beethoven, Mozart and Kodaly, you'll hear concerto competition winner Gregory Quevedo stretching out as clarinet soloist on the Première Rhapsody of Claude Debussy.

Program details:

Beethoven: Overture to Egmont, Op. 84
Debussy: Première Rhapsodie pour Orchestre (clarinet soloist: Gregory Quevedo)
Mozart: Symphony No. 35 in D Major, "Haffler" K. 385
Kodály: Dances of Galanta
