This week, Young Artists Showcase features French pianist Marie Vermeulin playing music by the great French composers, Debussy and Ravel. A talented performer, Vermeulin has won awards at the Olivier Messiaen International Compeition, the International Music Tournament, the International Maria Canals Competition, and from the Pro Musicis Foundation.

The program includes recordings from Vermeulin’s appearances at the Consulate General of France in New York, and at the Spring Festival of the Arts in Monte Carlo. We hear selections from Claude Debussy’s Études and Estampes, as well as Maurice Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit.
