Mark Morris (Amber Star Merkens)

Tuesdays in June at 8 pm, celebrated choreographer Mark Morris – 2013 music director of California's Ojai Music Festival – highlights selections from the festival's last three years. Episode One of the five-week series pairs virtuosic performances of music by John Luther Adams and Charles Ives, captured live in concert at Ojai in 2012.

The founder of the internationally renowned Mark Morris Dance Group, Morris has collaborated with the San Francisco Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera. The recipient of eleven honorary doctorates, he was named a fellow of the MacArthur Foundation in 1991 and received a 2010 Leonard Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award for the Elevation of Music in Society.

Join Mark Morris for commentary on featured composers and performers as well as first-hand insights into Ojai itself, which sits in a valley on the edge of the Los Padres National Forest.
