Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart said, “I like an aria to fit a singer as perfectly as a well-tailored suit of clothes." This week, host Debbie Voigt explains why that makes Mozart’s sopranos the luckiest sopranos in the world. She also reveals why singing Mozart is good medicine for the voice and how Mozart’s real-life experience made him particularly compassionate and understanding toward women.

Sopranos in this episode include, Kiri TeKanawa, Renée Fleming, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Roberta Alexander.

This is a great program, with a great host. Missed this episode. Only wish that WQXR will make this available after broadcast.
