This Wednesday at 9 pm, the Young Artists Showcase features performances and conversations from June LeBell’s Music Mondays series in Sarasota and Venice, Fla. LeBell, who was a WQXR host for nearly 30 years, now directs these weekly music events in collaboration with the Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning.

During a recent Music Monday, the brother-sister team of Benjamin and Elizabeth Beilman played duets for violin and viola by Martinů and Mozart, as well as a Handel Passacaglia arranged by Halvorsen. In addition, Robert Sherman interviewed another family act, the father-son duo Rich Ridenour and Brandon Ridenour, who played their own arrangements of music by Gershwin and Piazzolla on piano and trumpet, respectively.

The program concludes with soprano Elizabeth Trident’s performance of an aria from Verdi’s Il Corsaro, accompanied by Howard Lubin at the piano.
