On the Young Artists Showcase this week, host Bob Sherman continues to shine the spotlight on the keyboard by inviting pianist Claire Huangci to the WQXR studios. We first met Huangci in 2010 after her win at the USA Chopin Competition.

Some of the most heartwarming aspects of the Young Artists Showcase are watching our young musicians grow into major international artists and that is certainly true of Huangci. Since her last visit with us, Huangci moved from her hometown of Philadelphia to Berlin and has matured into a versatile performer honing her pianistic talents. She began her international career at just 9-years-old and has devoted her life to the instrument, not only performing, but also teaching and arranging.

On Oct. 23, Huangci will be performing at the Rockefeller Tri-Institutional Recital Series at the Caspary Auditorium at Rockefeller University.
