Q2 Music's 5th Annual New-Music Countdown

Q2 Music's 5th annual new-music countdown has returned! We asked listeners, "What do you consider the greatest works of classical music written in the last 20 years?" — i.e. music that was composed on or after Jan. 1, 1996.

This year, based on your feedback, we narrowed the window from the past 100 years to last the 20 years. Right now we're tallying up the votes and will begin the mammoth countdown on Monday, Dec. 28 at 11 am. It continues at 11 am on Dec. 29 with choices #11-20, and at 11 am on Dec. 30 with #21-30.

We close out the countdown at 11 am on New Years Eve with a countdown of the top 20. The most-requested piece rings in the new year.

Check back on this page during the Q2 Countdown to see updates on where your favorite new-music pieces landed on the list.
