Now in its 50th anniversary season, the Sarasota Music Festival has been bridging the season gap between such summer training centers as Tanglewood and Aspen. This week’s Young Artists Showcase goes down to Florida to visit with student artists and Showcase alumni, including clarinetist Moran Katz and violinist Elena Urioste, who we last met as a grant winner of the Salon De Virtuosi.

These performances were recorded at a gala concert for the Sarasota Festival at Holly Hall. Sarasota Orchestra members Jonathan Spivey and Elizabeth Beilman joined in for chamber music ranging from Brahms to Piazzolla. In the last act of tonight’s show, we stay in Sarasota to listen in on the finals of the All-Florida Piano Competition at the Neel Performing Arts Center.
