The New York Philharmonic presents a star-spangled celebration this week with the United States Coast Guard Band, under the direction of Capt. Kenneth W. Megan, joining the orchestra for a program of works by Sousa, Copland and Bernstein. Bramwell Tovey conducts this program, recorded in July 2013, and Joseph Alessi is the soloist on the world premiere of Tovey's The Lincoln Tunnel Cabaret for Trombone and Orchestra.
