Cellist Maya Beiser performs at the 2015 Ojai Music Festival (Ojai Music Festival)

Tuesdays in May at 9 pm, celebrated percussionist and conductor Steven Schick, the 2015 music director of California's Ojai Music Festival, highlights selections last year's events. The final episode of this three-week series features music for percussion and strings by Kaija Saariaho, Osvaldo Golijov, Osvaldo Golijov and Julia Wolfe. 

A champion of contemporary music, Steven Schick has commissioned and/or premiered more than 150 new works over the course of the last 40 years. A former member of the Bang on a Can All-Stars, Schick is founder of percussion ensemble red fish blue fish and the music director of the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus. He is also artistic director of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players.

Join Steven Schick for commentary on featured composers and performers as well as first-hand insights into Ojai itself, which sits in a valley on the edge of California's Los Padres National Forest.
